The external wastegate blankets are designed to keep heat in the wastegate, which has two effects: protecting the gate's internal diaphragm and reducing the heat expelled into your engine bay. They are available in classic titanium or a carbon finish to match the rest of your heat protection items.
Another added benefit is reducing the risk of burns when working on a hot engine, as the wastegate blanket keeps most of the heat in. Paired with an exhausting turbo blanket, this will give you the most performance from your build, and it just adds to the effect of reducing the intake air temperatures.
