Why Use An Exoracing T3 Turbocharger Gasket?

Our Exoracing t3 turbocharger gaskets are expertly crafted from high-quality 304-grade stainless steel or perforated aluminium composite and are precision-cut and pressed to meet OEM specifications, ensuring a perfect fit every time.

Generally, you would opt for the 304 stainless steel in most cases, but the only time you would use an aluminium composite gasket over the stainless steel is when the flange has a slight warp. In this case, we would always recommend resurfacing the flange and going with the stainless option, but the composite gasket is also good for adding a few mm of depth if you need it due to being 2mm thick vs the stainless steel 0.5mm thick.

The 304 stainless steel option also has a pressed centre, which greatly aids in the composition of the gasket and reduces the chance of it blowing out.

These gaskets are essential for securely sealing two t3 flanges together, such as the turbo to the manifold, to prevent any gas from escaping. When gaskets become worn, split, or damaged, they can cause exhaust gas leakage, resulting in reduced engine power and performance.

If you are replacing a gasket due to damage or distortion, we always recommend resurfacing the two mating flanges to ensure maximum sealing with the new gasket and to prevent future blowouts. This can help extend the lifespan of your turbo and turbo gasket and avoid any potential issues.

Exoracing T3 Turbocharger Gasket Installation Guide:

Installing our Exoracing t3 turbocharger gaskets is straightforward, as shown by the steps below. If you aren't confident in installing it yourself, then please get in touch with a professional to install it for you.

1. First, remove anything connected to the turbocharger, such as water lines, oil feed and drain lines etc, making sure to drain the oil and coolant here if necessary.
2. Next, remove the four nuts or bolts from the turbocharger flange, depending on which setup you are running on your car, and remove the old worn gasket.
3. Using something perfectly flat such as a ruler, ensure the manifold and turbocharger flanges are completely flat. If they are warped in any way, please send the turbocharger or manifold to the machine shop before going to the next step, as this could potentially cause the next gasket to blow out.
4. Reinstall the brand new Exoracing t3 turbocharger gasket, and reinstall everything following the steps above. Make sure to torque the manifold nuts or bolts to the factory settings.
5. Run the car through a few heat cycles, ensuring the turbocharger operates correctly, and you get the same boost level as you should. If you aren't, you may have either installed the gasket incorrectly or not correctly tightened parts of the turbocharger.
6. Once you are happy everything is working as it should, retorque the manifold studs, and you will be done!
